Talent Buyer

The Talent Buyer will book and coordinate artists and talent as a representative of Twin Cities Catalyst Music and THE GARAGE. They will produce relevant and appropriate appeal for an all-ages market demographic and will also concentrate a majority of their efforts to cultivate and foster a thriving local music scene.

As part of the administrative staff the Talent Buyer will carry themselves professionally as a leader, role model, advisor, and mentor. They will provide young people with equitable access and opportunities, while growing them as people prepared to make the world work for them.

The Talent Buyer will perform their duties and responsibilities with accordance to the vision of Twin Cities Catalyst Music:

THE GARAGE is an all-ages venue and music laboratory where young people who don’t typically have access to shows because of age and circumstance can perform, see and open for touring artists, train in event production, record, and practice arts journalism. It’s a place for young people to develop knowledge and skills from artists and industry professionals. It’s a place for music to happen.


Regular Duties and Responsibilities:

-Regular and timely attendance

-Attend weekly staff meetings

-Flexible schedule to work nights and weekends

-Responds to routine questions and requests

-Professional demeanor required at all times

-Cultivate relationships in the local scene

-Train, lead, and instruct staff, volunteers, and interns

-Provide positive, reflective, and constructive feedback for staff, volunteers, and interns


Booking Duties:

-Maintain clear knowledge of upcoming calendar

-Maintain a “Shared Calendar” (times, price, bands, and booking designation)

-Maintain a shared database of all booking contacts

-Ensure quality, timeliness, and accuracy of all event information

-Respond to ALL booking inquiries submitted to the venue regardless of show status

-Negotiate all deals and stipulations

-Coordinate day of show execution (hospitality and settlement)



-Requires good verbal and written skills

-Requires working knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook

-Requires attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks

-Requires a self-motivated individual

-Ability to work well in fast paced and highly stressful situations

-Exceptional organization skills

-Works well in collaborative group settings
